Volkswagen and Audi have called for the recall of 2.16 million vehicles worldwide, according to DW.com. The recall is tied to a technical fault, the outlet reported on Friday, 25 September 2026.
Coverage of the same recall varies in scope. EL PAÍS reported that Volkswagen, Audi and Seat together are calling in nearly three million vehicles globally, also citing a technical defect. ABC framed the action around a corrosion risk affecting cars from two of the group's brands. MILENIO likewise put the figure at close to three million vehicles worldwide.
One regional report offered a narrower figure. Quadratin Jalisco said more than 208,000 Volkswagen and Audi vehicles are being recalled over a steering failure.
